Create strategies to identify and generate new opportunities for volunteer engagement and involvement. Manage and maintain a volunteer database. Evaluate volunteer programs and conduct needs assessments. Compile data, prepare reports and recommend changes to improve programs. Maintain volunteer information to include: volunteer personnel files, evaluations, hours donated, and program assignments. Monitor the use and placement of volunteers. Develops a recognition plan for volunteers; coordinates recognition events.
Foster partnerships with special interest groups, committees, community groups and others. Represent Metro Parks Tacoma at public meetings and hearings and make presentations about volunteer programs.

Addresses food insecurity and promotes nutritional health on campus and provide local food security programs with fresh produce. Recruit, schedule and supervise community volunteers. Create garden and planting plan. Build community partnerships, hold work-shops and cooking demo's.

Have reached out the our campus community as well as local Tacoma community looking for opportunities to collaborate on projects or participate in events that promote responsible land stewardship, environmental awareness, engage the community to find ways to fight local food insecurities, and advocated for green development. Managed RSO meetings, organized Project Earths activities such as: UWT Involvement Fair, MKL 2016 Workparty at Titlow Park, table at Earth Week 2017, and Earth Day at UWT 2017.

YOUTH CREW SUPERVISOR
HANCOCK FOREST MANAGEMENT / SSC CONTRACTORS
Summer of 2016
Responsible for supervising 11 tribal youth, and co-supervised 20 other youth on the 2 other crews in a variety of projects including riparian enhancement, eradicate invasive & noxious weeds, maintaining roads and ditches, repair & rebuild campsites, and improve wildlife habitat. Our time was spent mostly in the forest learning about Forest engineering, Forestry practices and principles, wildlife habitats and the systems they live in, traditional food networks and their cultural and medicinal significance. Projects entailed educating the importance of preserving MFC lands, and environment. Had to be quick to resolve conflicts in high stress situations. Overseen the safety and transportation of crew.

Responsible for a variety of realty and trust land duties in support of Trust Services operations pertaining to leasing, conveyances and exchanges, land sales, and assist with probates; and providing technical and procedural support.
Provided specialized and technical program information that required interpretation of established tribal and federal policies, procedures and other relevant sources to internal and external customer and clients over the phone, in writing and in person and normally would deal with sensitive, private and occasionally volatile situations in the course of providing incumbent services. Consulted statutes, ordinances, contracts, regulations and other sources involving complex subjects and specialized terminology. Summarize information and prepares reports based on analyses of data collected during a specified report period.
Additional duties:
Prepare legal documents such as leases and conveyance documents in connection with realty transactions and in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 25 Indians, and Federal Realty Practices. Provide real estate data to interdepartmental requests for information on a “need to know” basis. Prepares and maintains data spread sheet for the realty department to show actions pending and processing time for each application. Responds to inquiries from Indian/tribal member customer/clients and refers other questions to the department director or the Tribal Operations Manager as appropriate.
Negotiate leases and right-of-way contracts that involved multiple landowners, oversee and manage lease contracts and renewals.
Develop and maintain positive professional relationships with Bureau of Indian Affairs, Office of Special Trustee, and Office of Hearing and Appeals.
Maintains files in accordance with federal regulations that apply to Indian owned assets. Assists tribal member/enrolled Indians in the preparation of forms requesting assistance from the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Travel by motor vehicles to client homes and provides realty services to elder tribal members who are disabled or cannot travel due to illness or physical disabilities.
May generate responses to internal and or/ external customer/clients addressing complaints, concerns or problems of a controversial and sensitive nature that requires discretion and a special understanding of the underlying issues of the subject matter. Composes drafts, types and/or word processes, proofreads and edits documents, contracts and/or correspondence to insure that they conform to established program policies and/or procedures, may include legal, and/or other specialized materials. May be assigned to orientation and /or training and at times make presentations. Occasionally participates in training sessions with the Bureau of Indian Affairs and Department of Interior required training sessions to improve knowledge base.
Coordinated and facilitated landowner meetings that included 5-40 people. At times these meetings could get volatile and I was responsible for keeping the meeting on task so that we could accomplish our goals of the meeting.
